Helo welcom 2 my websight
So I was actually going to do this on my facebook, but my mobile phone won't let me use tinysong anymore, so I'll sum them all up here with some jewtube links where appropriate. The other links are links to Grooveshark, where you can listen to the song without any annoying Youtube shit like bad quality sound and shitty fanvids.
Day 01 — Your favorite song: EELS — Things the Grandchildren should know
My favorite song used to be Climbing up to the Moon by EELS for a very long time, but I've been thinking, and the lyrics to this song are just so amazing.
Day 02 — Your least favorite song: Brokencyde — Bree
Dear God, just listening to this makes my ears bleed and shortens my life by at least a day. I heard this song first in a 'You quit you lose' playlist from /v/ and goddamn. There were three Brokencyde songs in there, but they made the mistake of doing this one first and after sitting through this piece of shit I felt like I could handle anything they'd throw at me.
Day 03 — A song that makes you happy: Sakamoto Maaya — Mameshiba
Her Lucy CD is seriously the best spring CD ever, almost every song on there makes me feel really happy.
Day 04 — A song that makes you sad: Christina Stürmer — Mama (Ana Ahabak)
It's a song about a young girl losing her mother in the war and singing about how much she loves her. Try not to get sad while listening to that.
Day 05 — A song that reminds you of someone: Sonata Arctica — Tallulah
This was 'our song' for me and a friend. We've since gone our separate ways, but it still reminds me of her.
Day 06 — A song that reminds you of somewhere: Feuerschwanz — Met und Miezen
This reminds me of the awesome time we had at Wacken Open Air 2009. Also, I know the quality is shit, but you've really got to SEE Feuerschwanz to understand their awesomeness. And yes, the band is called Firepenis. Or it could be Fire tail. But that's just preposterous.
Day 07 — A song that reminds you of a certain event: Savatage — All that I Bleed
I sang this song in Highschool during an extremely amateuristic performance. It was pretty fun to do, and I still love singing this song a lot.
Day 08 — A song that you know all the words to: Iron Maiden — Dance of Death
I pretty much know the words to most music that I like, but with 9:23 of mostly unique lyrics (like, no constant repititions of certain phrases and stuff), Dance of Death might be the longest track I know the complete lyrics to. It's certainly one of the most interesting. Cool outfit by the way, Bruce.
Day 09 — A song that you can dance to: SNSD — Gee
Not only CAN I dance to this, I basically HAVE TO every time I hear it. I also know the lyrics. Well, not the actual lyrics, because I'm lazy, but I can sing along without you hearing that I don't have a clue what the hell I'm singing.
Also, on a related note; while I had this song on in my car one time I almost drove into another car because I was doing the dance behind the wheel. Whoops.
Day 10 — A song that makes you fall asleep: Kings of Convenience — Into the Ring of Fire
This song makes me fall asleep in a good way. Kings of Convenience is such a great band to calm down by, and the voices of their vocalists go so well together that it always reminds me of a choir of angels singing, even though it is only two guys. They manage to make really beautiful music using only their voice and a guitar, and I love that.
Day 11 — A song from your favorite band: EELS — Rotten world blues
Everyone knows my favorite band is EELS, but not everyone knows this song since it was a bonus track on only a certain release of the Souljacker album. Luckily all EELS fans have been able to enjoy it with the release of Useless Trinkets.
Day 12 — A song from a band you hate: Korn – anything
Nu-metal isn't metal, boys. It is also gay as shit.
Day 13 — A song that is a guilty pleasure: Evanescene — Bring me to life
God it's so bad. But why do I love it so? ;_;
For the record, I only listen to the version without the shitty rap in it. I mean I can handle cheeze, but not that kind of crap.
Day 14 — A song that no one would expect you to love: Blof — Harder dan ik hebben kan
Not many people know I actually do enjoy some Dutch music. In fact, I think the only person I told outright is Chizu, but Zinzi said I'd talked about it before. We used to drink together quite often, so it might've been one of those times =p This song is really beautiful, and it's a shame there's no subtitles for those who don't speak Dutch.
Day 15 — A song that describes you: EELS — Ugly Love
I know EELS songs just keep coming along, but it's not my fault ONLY THEY UNDERSTAND HOW DEEP I AM.
Day 16 — A song that you used to love but now hate: Britney Spears — Oops I did it again
Day 17 — A song that you hear often on the radio: Bob Marley – One Love
I never listen to the radio, but I fucking hate reggae so every time I hear this it's one time too many.
Day 18 — A song that you wish you heard on the radio: Hamka — Ignition
If I ever hear this on the radio, that station will be my favorite radio station forever.
Day 19 — A song from your favorite album: Ram-Zet — I'm not Dead
Pure Therapy is a brilliant album that tells a story from start to finish, and it does so with a style and elegance that usually doesn't come easy to Metal albums. It's the best Metal album ever made in my opinion, even though the seperate songs are in no way the best songs ever made.
Day 20 — A song that you listen to when you're angry: Slayer — Disciple
Nothing like yelling at God and calling everyone assholes when you're angry. My voice always gets raspy and fucked up after singing this first song though, so I usually go back to silent sulking afterwards.
Day 21 — A song that you listen to when you're happy: Orikasa Fumiko — Flower
The combination of her pretty voice and the upbeat music just makes me feel even happier :3 Also, this is the first time I've been able to actually find the original PV and as you can see it's incredibly cute. Orikasa Fumiko is also the Seiyuu of my favorite anime character, Miu Matsuoka, so it's pretty cool that she's also a g
Day 22 — A song that you listen to when you're sad: Masayoshi Yamazaki — One more time, one more chance
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever created, and I made the video window extra big because it's the main song in the most beautiful anime ever created. It makes me cry like a little bitch, and that's what I like to do when I'm sad. Put the english lyrics next to it if you really feel like letting go.
Day 23 — A song that you want to play at your wedding: Sakamoto Maaya — Aoi Hitomi
If only for the beautiful harp. I also have blue eyes (kind of) so we could pull it off.
Day 24 — A song that you want to play at your funeral: EELS — Things the grandchildren should know
This is indeed the second time this song is in the list, but it pretty much says everything I'd want to tell my kids. Or, you know, grandchildren. Plus, it's so beautiful I'm sure it'll make everyone cry even if they didn't like me.
Day 25 — A song that makes you laugh: Reetman — Een Dode Vis
A song about a man who shoves a dead fish up his ass. I fucking love reetman. Also, surprisingly, he's not famous enough to be up on Grooveshark, but luckily there was some crazy Dutch guy who uploaded it to Youtube. Lucky you!
Day 26 — A song that you can play on an instrument: Megadeth — A Secret Place
I used to be able to play this on guitar. I have to admit it's not that hard, but it feels badass as fuck to play this along with the cd.
Day 27 — A song that you wish you could play: Megadeth — Holy Wars
If only I had learned to play this instead of My Secret Place..
Day 28 — A song that makes you feel guilty: Merzbow
It makes me feel guilty for not getting anyone into noise. In b4 DURHURTHATDOESN'TSOUNDLIKEMUSICBREV. Watch the 2005 Japanese movie Eli, Eli, Lema Sabachthani?
Day 29 — A song from your childhood: Gummiberen intro
All the songs from my childhood were pretty much cartoon OPs. Also, Gummiberen is badass as all fuck. Look at those bears going at it.
Day 30 — Your favorite song at this time last year: EELS — Climbing to the Moon
A wonderful way to end this list.
