Helo welcom 2 my websight
So is it just me or…
Was Iron Man 3 REALLY disappointing?
After the amazing Iron Man, slightly less amazing but still pretty cool Iron Man 2, awesome Thor and all of the other high quality Avengers lead-in movies, perhaps I was expecting too much but…was that really it?
Yeah, Robert Downey Jr. is still the perfect Tony Stark and sure his antics are still funny (although much less so in this most recent outing) and yes the special effects were great and the setpieces were huge but…what did I really watch?
I watched a bunch of people talk for a not insignificant amount of time but not coming out with anything interesting. I watched Shane Black (whose last movie was Kiss Kiss Bang Bang almost 10 years ago) throw away the best nemesis Iron Man had in the comics for some cheap laughs in favor of a real life Totally Spies villain. I watched as 40 Iron Man suits created more plotholes than explosions and not one of them had a relevant story. I watched as scenes that were completely unnecessary were left in (I’m looking at you, retarded airplane scene) while what this movie really needed (plot development) was nowhere to be found IN SPITE OF THE MOVIE BEING OVER 2 HOURS LONG.
Truly this must’ve been the work of a terrible writer. The main villain was so terribly written that I couldn’t give two shits about him, the main plot was…uh…what was the plot again? There’s some guy killing people, Tony tells him he’ll kill him, then his house gets blown up and he has to kill him the long way around? Seriously the plot was hilariously bad.
I was really looking forward to Iron Man 3 because it was received well by critics and fans alike but I’m wondering if they saw the same movie I did. Where’s the excitement, the wonder, the pacing and storylines of the previous Marvel films?
Hell, even the after-credit bit was a disappointment.
I’d like my €20 back, please.
